In this blog article, you will be introduced to the element in the Visual Flow Builder, be familiar and understand how it works to help to build your desired messenger bot.

Trigger element

The trigger element takes text data as keywords to start the messenger bot – you can add multiple keywords on the configure panel. This element is required to place at the beginning of the flow to trigger the bot to start when the user types in the keywords in the messenger.

Text element

The text element takes text data and prompts text messages or text reply to the users. You may insert the first name or the last name of the user into a text format, the element will capture the user’s information, allowing the bot to sound professional. You can activate the Typing on Display button and set the Delay in reply time to show the text message.

Image element

The image element takes image data, you are required to upload an image from your computer. It supports multiple image formats such as JPG, PNG and GIF.

Audio element

The audio element takes an audio file, you are required to upload an audio file from your computer. It supports multiple audio file formats such as AMR, MP3 and WAVE.

Video element

The video element takes a video file, you are required to upload a video file from your computer. It supports various video file formats such as MP4, FLV and WMV.

File element

The file element takes different types of documents, you are required to upload a file from your computer. It supports various file formats such as DOC, PDF, TXT, PPT, PPTX, XLS and XLSX.

Button element

The button element work as a button in the messenger bot. Double-click on the button element, you will see two fields – Button text and Button type on the right panel. You may create a name for the button in the Button text and select a Button type from the drop-down menu as shown below:

When the new postback button is selected, a new postback element will appear in the editor connecting the button element.

When the postback button is selected, you are required to choose a page from the postback id. Click on the postback id field and the drop-down menu of predefined postback will appear and choose a postback id listed from it.

Web URL button

When the web URL button is selected, an additional field is provided to put the URL link so when a user clicks on the button, the user will be redirected to the page of the URL provided. Same as Webview (Full) and Webview (Compact) button.

User birthday button

Create a user birthday button and change the text accordingly.

Create a user email button and change the text accordingly.

Create a user phone button and change the text accordingly.

Create a user location button and change the text accordingly.

Call us button

When the call us button is selected, proceed to put the company contact number in the mobile/phone field so when the user press the button it will automatically call the number that you have input.

Unsubcribe button

Create a unsubscribe button for user to unsubscribe services or messages.

Resubscribe button

Similarly, when creating a resubscribe button for user to resubscribe services or messages.

Chat with human button

When the chat with human button is selected, the user have the option to talk with a human for enquiries.

Chat with robot button

Likewise, when the chat with robot button is selected, the user can start talking to the bot again.

Generic template element

The generic template element allows you to create a template, you are required to add an image, an URL, a title and a subtitle. Drag the generic template element from the dock menu and drop it on the editor, the template will be attached with a button element. Double-click and add the data for both elements on the right panel. Besides the button element, you may add a quick reply element to the output socket called Quick replies.

Carousel element

The carousel element only works as the parent of carousel single element, it does not receive data. Drag and drop the carousel element, it will be attached to three carousel single elements with three-button elements connecting to each carousel single element. Double-click on the carousel single element and the button element, add data accordingly on the right panel.

Carousel single element

You may also add more carousel single elements to the carousel element. The carousel single element acts like a generic template, you are required to add an image, a link, a title and a subtitle. The carousel single element is the subset of the carousel element and that means it could only be connected to the carousel element.

Facebook media element

The Facebook media element will display a media posted on your Facebook page. Drag and drop the Facebook media element into the editor, add the link to any image or video post of your page and the user will see the media post in the messenger chatbot instantly.

Ecommerce element

The e-commerce element allows you to make a carousel generic reply to the products of your e-commerce store. First, you need to select an e-commerce store you have created from the dropdown menu, then you have to select products to make a carousel or generic replies of these products. Lastly, you are required to add text data for the buy now button. That’s it, you will create a nice carousel or generic reply of the products in the e-commerce store that you have chosen.

User input flow element

The element allows you to add user input flow to your bot easily. Select a predefined campaign for user input flow in the drop-down menu. You are required to create a campaign first before the selection of the predefined campaign. Please read the article to know how to create a campaign for User Input Flow.

Quick reply element

The quick reply element will show auto-reply messages to the users. You are required to connect the quick reply element with the elements that have an output socket called Quick replies. There are a few quick reply type that you can select from the dropdown menu – New postback, postback, phone and email.

If you have selected a new postback, a button text field will appear. Fill up the field and click ok. A new postback element will instantly appear in the editor connecting the quick reply element. Double-click on the new postback element and fill up the details accordingly in the right panel as circled. In the dropdown menu, you will see a list of new sequences and other sequences that you may have created earlier. When you select a new sequence, a new sequence element connecting three sequences single element and three new postback element will appear. To create the sequence, please follow the instruction in the sequence element section on how to create a sequence message. 

New sequence element

The new sequence element will allow you to create a conditional flow of messages. Double-click the element on the editor and input the details in the right panel. The bot can be performed in different ways based on the user type.

New postback element

The new postback element is used to create campaigns for sequence messages. The element is placed before the new sequence and is connected to it. You may start a bot with a new postback element. Double-click a new postback element to configure by choosing a title, a label and a predefined sequence from the dropdown menu. To start a bot with a new postback, you are required to connect the trigger element with the new postback as shown below.

OTN element

The OTN element shows users a one time notification. You are required to give a title and select a predefined OTN postback ID from the dropdown menu.

Action button element

Beside trigger element, you can start a bot flow with an action button element. In this case, you have to connect the action button element to the action button socket of the start bot flow element. You are required to select one of the actions listed in the dropdown menu.

Visual Flow Builder feature is now available in BevooChat. It is a graphical drag-and-drop messenger bot builder. With the graphical editor, you will be able to build a bot by dragging elements from the dock menu and drop it on the editor, adding data to each element and connect the elements to form a visual process flow.

On the Visual Flow Builder, you can control all of the data within the same interface and envision the process. This feature has made the bot-building process easier and allows you to make a highly interactive and responsive bot instantly.

Now, let us walk you through the process of building a bot with the Visual Flow Builder.

The Visual Flow Builder Feature

To start, go to the dashboard of the BevooChat. Then click on the Flow Builder menu on the left panel.

The Visual Flow Builder page will appear instantaneously with a button called “Create new flow”.

Click on the Create new flow button and a dropdown box will appear. Select desired page to build a messenger bot.

Click on the Ok button to confirm.

The editor of the flow builder will appear. There are a total of 20 elements on the dock menu. The Start Bot Flow element will be displayed when activated, it is the reference of the bot that you are going to make. You may change the name of the messenger bot on the Start Bot Flow element.

Drag element from the dock menu and place it on the Editor:
You will first drag the elements to build your desired bot from the dock menu to the editor.

Connecting elements with each other:
After dragging the elements, you need to connect the elements. Each element consists of two sockets – input socket and output socket. You should link the corresponding output socket of one element to the input socket of another element.

Adding data to the elements:
Then continue by adding data to the elements. Double-click on the element in the editor, the editing panel will appear on the right side of the editor. Fill up the editing panel with the necessary data. *Note that each element will process different types of data.

Log in to BevooChat.

After importing your Facebook account and page, it will appear at the page list.

Comment growth tools

This feature will help you to set comment template, reply template of your comment automation campaign.

  1. Comment template

An auto comment template can contain multiple comments. Simply create a template by adding the comments you want for that template. Later these templates will be displayed when you create a new auto comment campaign.

Click on ‘Detail’ in Comment template

Click on ‘Create new template’.

Fill in the comment template name
Type in your auto comment reply.
You can ‘add more’ or ‘remove’ the comments as and when you like.
Click ‘Save’ once you are done.

  1. Reply Template

An auto reply template can contain multiple replies. Simply create a template by adding the replies you want for that template. Later these templates will be displayed when you create a new auto reply campaign.

Click on ‘Detail’ in Reply template

Click on ‘Create new template’.

There will be a few questions regarding your reply template, simply toggle to ‘Yes’ to suit your business needs.
Next, fill in the auto reply campaign name.
Edit the ‘Message for comment reply’ and ‘Message for private reply’ accordingly.
Click ‘Save’ once you are done.

  1. Automation Template

This page is divided into three parts. The left one is for your page lists, the middle one where you will find your bots, full page campaigns and reports of all the comment automation campaigns and the right one is for the lists of your latest posts.

Click on ‘Details in Automation Campaign

You can setAuto Comment andAuto Reply’ by clicking on the post settings icon.

Messenger Bot

You will be able to set your messenger bot for multiple pages. The bot can reply with text, post back button, quick reply, image, video, template, carousel template.

Click on ‘Messenger Bot’Bot settings and click ‘Actions’.

You will notice that there are few types of Messenger bot settings.

1. Bot Reply Settings

Bot reply based on keywords that you input at BevooChat settings. For example. When someone types “hi” , BevooChat bot will reply “Hello, how can we help you?”

Click on ‘Add bot reply’.

Fill in:

  1. Bot name
  2. Any keywords that will trigger the bot to give the customer an auto reply. I use ‘Hi’ for an example here. You can put in multiple keywords.
  3. Fill in the reply message.
  4. Click ‘Update’ once done.

2. Get Started Settings

Enable the get started button status and click ‘Save’

3. Action Button Settings

Under the action button settings, there are different types of settings. Here is how each setting works.

  • Get-started template : respond when visitor click on get started button
  • No match template : respond when system does not get any matching keyword to reply.
  • Un-subscribe template : replies when visitor click unsubscribe button
  • Re-subscribe template : replies when visitor click resubscribe button
  • Email quick reply template : replies when visitor provides his/her email
  • Phone quick reply template : replies when visitor provides his/her phone
  • Birthday quick reply template : replies when visitor provides his/her birth date
  • Chat with human template : replies when visitor wants to chat with human agent
  • Chat with robot template : replies when visitor wants to chat with robot agent

Get Started Template

Reply 1 – Using one-time notification reply. Type in the title and OTN postback
Reply 2 – Using text. Choose to enable the texting on display and the reply timing. Fill in the reply message box.

Once done, click ‘Update’.

Persistent menu only allows up to 3 buttons.

Messenger Broadcasting

There are two types of messenger broadcasting

  1. Subscriber Broadcast
    a. Broadcast limit: no limit
    b. Broadcast type:  24H Promo, Non-promo

Accumulating One-Time Notifications

While one-time notifications can only be used once (as the name might imply), you can accumulate multiple OTNs for a single subscriber. The catch is that each one must be requested separately. So if you have five different things you want to send a subscriber, they’ll need to agree to each one individually.

Important note: Be careful with sending too many OTN requests in a row for a single subscriber within a short period of time. Such messenger chat bot behavior is monitored by Facebook and considered to be an abuse of OTN. If Facebook algorithms detect abnormal amounts of OTN requests sent within a short period of time you’re at risk of losing access to the OTN feature.

Create OTN Campaign
Go to Broadcasting > OTN subscriber broadcast > campaign list

Subscriber Broadcast
24H Promo Message: Pages are permitted to send promotional message to subscribers, those has sent message to your page in last 24 hours. The 24-hour limit is refreshed each time a person responds to a business through one of the eligible actions listed in messenger conversation entry points.

Non-promo Message: You can send non-promo message as much as you want to all your subscribers using one of the tag listed here. Use broadcasting with message tag carefully. Message must not contain any advertisement or promotional material & use appropriate tag that is applicable for sending message to those people. Using message tag without proper reason may result in block your page’s messaging option by Facebook.

Create Subscriber Broadcast Campaign

  1. Go to Broadcasting > Subscriber Broadcast > Campaign list
  2. Create Campaign

Sequence Message Settings
Sequence messaging is a marketing strategy that sends, or “drips,” a pre-written set of messages to messenger bot subscribers over time. This feature can send 24H promo and non-promotional with tag message sequence to messenger bot subscribers.

24H promo campaign can be set at 30 min, 1 hour to 23 hours and non-promotional campaign can be set at day 1 to day 30.

Create Sequence Message

  1. Go to Bot settings > Sequence message settings > Add sequence
  2. Select sequence type
  3. Select messenger engagement retargeting
  4. Select sequence time
  5. Add new template

Messenger engagement

  1. Go to Messenger Bot > Messenger engagement > Send to messenger
  2. Create plugin

Social Posting (Facebook Poster)

Here you will find all the facebook poster related settings. This section is devided into four sub-section.

Text/link/image/video post:

Text Post: Enter post description & choose which pages to post to. Live preview is available on the right.

Link Post: Paste your link, type a description(Optional). Live preview is available on the right.

Under text, you can type in your Campaign Name and the caption of your content on the Message box. Under the Post to pages, you can choose the Facebook page you would want the content to be posted.

Our Getting Started guides will help you get up and running with BevooChat.

Log in to BevooChat, on the left menu, scroll down and you will see the ‘eCommerce’ tab.
Click on
‘eCommerce store’.

It will bring you to the page where you will have an overview dashboard of your store.
Click on
‘Create store’.

You will see a page that will ask you to fill in your eCommerce store details.

  • Store name
  • Email
  • Mobile
  • Country, state, city, address, postal code
  • Logo
  • Terms of service
  • Refund policy

For ‘Select page’, select your facebook page which you want to create the store else you may skip selecting the page if you plan to use this store outside facebook messenger.

After filling in all the necessary details, click ‘Create store’

The store that you have created will appear at the side.

At the right side of the page, you will see a list of tabs. You will need to set up the details on certain tabs.

Checkout settings

Fill in the payment integration information, depending on which payment your business uses.

Check the payment options that your business is using. If it is using paypal, stripe payment or other payment method, toggle to ‘Yes’.

Adjust the delivery charges fees accordingly, tax can be 0% if your business does not have it. Enable the delivery preference and adjust the time that you deliver your item accordingly.

At the login preference, if you allow guest checkout on your store you can enable it. It allows a customer to purchase without logging into or creating a store account. Once done, click ‘Save’. 

Appearance settings

You can choose theme colors, how you would like your product to be shown and the font.

Click ‘Save’ once you are done.

Categories settings

If you would like to categorise your item. Click on ‘Add’, type in category name and set the thumbnail image(if any)

Attributes

At the attribute page, you can add in different variant options.
For example, size, colors, pricing, etc. After you have added in the variant options.
Click ‘Save’.

Product

At the product tab, you will be able to add in the product that you want to sell.

Fill in:

  • Product name
  • Original Price
  • Category
  • Product description
  • Purchase note (if any)
  • Thumbnail image and featured image
  • Item in stock
  • Preparation time

Upsell and downsell product

At the upsell product, you can choose a product in addition to the one being purchased.

While downsell product is the opposite of upselling, it can be used when your customer has declined your product or service offer and you offer them an alternative product at a lower price.

How to add variant pricing options:

At the attributes, you can choose the variants options which you have created earlier. If there is add-on pricings for the items that customer is buying, you can add the price here.

Click ‘Save’ once you are done.

At the product page, the options tab will appear. Customer can choose the option and pricing will be adjusted accordingly.

Once you have finished uploading the products, at the ‘actions’ column, you can click on the eye icon or ‘Visit Store’ which will lead you to the product page.

QR code

You can include QR code for your store as well. When customers scan it will direct them to the shop.

Copy URL

The link can act as button so when customer click at the messenger chat.

It will pop up on the store page.

Order status notifications

Orders messages can be changed on this page.

Coupons

Click ‘Create’. Choose the products and coupon type, enter the coupon code, coupon amount and expiry date. If there is any max usage limit for the coupon, you can key in the quantity. Click ‘Save’.

The coupon that you have just created will appear.

Orders

At the orders page, you can see the order details that customers have placed.

At the status column, you can update the status accordingly once you are done with the order.
